Reflective journal 4

This week I learnt how to use Adobe Illustrator on the macs and what I'd need to know to create an article. The next day we all pitched ideas and spent the rest of the day creating articles for the website. I first had to write the article on word and then transfer the text onto AI and begin to design it. I learnt how to find photos that aren't copyrighted to use on my work.

Reflective Journal 3

This week at college we spent the day working on writing articles for the website. We learnt what we should include in a story, and how to lay it out. We wrote one on domestic violence and the black dot campaign. we included a brief about what its and why its important, statistics and interviews. We also had to design the page into a suitable layout.

Reflective journal 2

This week and Cambridge Regional College I learnt a number of things. On the first day we got given the task of renaming the media magazine, I learnt how to start thinking about ideas and also that it was a lot more difficult than expected as we had to check every name we came up with didn't already exist as a magazine, which most did. I also learnt a number of Print-based media techniques definitions such as etching and many others.

Reflective Journal 1

At my first week at Cambridge regional college I got the opportunity to refresh my memory on the website Blogger, and get my new blog started. I also learnt what i need to include in a pitch. I learnt this by designing a product in a group and then pitching it too the rest of the group. We had to remember to include a detailed description of our product, including different variations of it, the target audience, who we think our biggest competitor would be and why we think our product would do better.

About Me

My name is Danni Lewell. I've spent the last year studying my AS levels at sixth form in the subjects; English Language, Media Studies and Law. I've always been a creative person and over the years developed a strong interest in Media. After a year of AS's I decided to focus on Print-based media which I am now studying at Cambridge Regional College. I chose this because I have a particular interest in magazine editing and advertising. My hopes are to develop my skills in this industry and carry on to study at University before hopefully working in London and pursuing this as a career.
